Language Day

What a lovely day we had this year as the Language Day. Some year groups had Mandarin or Spanish lessons taught by Elmgreen or Charter Y7 students. All the classes had croissant throughout the day. Y2 had Chinese decoration photo booth in the afternoon.

The Elmgreen Y7 students did Three True and One False activity in Mandarin with the children. It was great that we had some familiar faces as the children had their primary school here and their siblings are still at Rosendale. Ms Young from Elmgreen school did Spanish number 1-10 with the children. I hope you enjoy today.

Y2 Chinese character workshop

This week, our Y2 children had a workshop to revise the learned characters. We did a treasure hunt in the pond area and translated the found characters. They then did the Running cat game. They achieved three tasks and beat our Mandarin teacher. What a lovely day. Well done to Y2 children.

Video conference with China

This week, 5BM children had video conference with our Chinese partner school. We met Y5 children and they showed us the great paper cutting work about Chinese Dragon Boat Festival. They also read poem to us and translated for us. Our children practised Mandarin with them. What a great online meeting. Hope we will meet them very soon again.
