We celebrated the Confucius Day on Friday which was originally Confucius’ Birthday 2500 ago. Confucius was born in 551 BC and died in 479 BC. He was a Chinese teacher, editor, politician and philosopher. He had many great theories which modern still benefit a lot today.
We had an online conference with Robin Hood Primary School to exchange some Mandarin learning. It was fantastic to see their children singing the beautiful song. We had 6 children from Y2 taught how to write numbers from 1 to 10. There were 9 children from Y3 and another 9 children from Y1 who never learned Mandarin involved in this conference. What a great day.
We have been learning professional and places recently with 5ST. They practised the conversation and preformed in front of the classroom. It was fantastic Mandarin they spoke.
This week we learned three Chinese characters: 门 （men2）means the door, 问 （wen4）means ask and 吗 （ma）means ‘yes’ or ‘no’ question word. The students wrote them and practised them. They did very beautiful words.
The IOE CI shot a film with the old 4AG and 1SB and some other students involved in July. It showed the Mandarin learning in secondary and primary school. Our students did fantastic work that day. I hope you enjoy it.
